Dubai Project Update

The tower and the Robotic Parking Structure to the right of the tower is a model of the Al Hikma Project. The fully automated Robotic Parking Solution being provided by Apex Skypark, Inc (ASI) is the World's Largest Robotic Parking Garage under development. Standing next to the model is ASI’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Harold Ashworth.

The robotic car park has a total of twenty floors with five of them below grade. The electro-mechanical equipment consists of Vertical Transporters to move the vehicles from floor to floor; Trolleys which will position the vehicles horizontally in front of the parking stall; and Robots which will be performing the precision pick and place routines for the vehicles.

The project is unique in many aspects: 1) the tower will be the largest building in the Middle East depicting the former Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum; 2) the Apex Skypark Robotic Parking Structure will be the Largest, 1288 spaces, and most technologically advanced in the entire world; 3) the structure will have a helipad on its rooftop and a catwalk from the car park to the tower for the Royal Family.

When asked, Harold stated "although the Dubai Municipality has been inconsistent with their approvals the project is making headway and behind the scenes progress is being made.
